Tacoma HONK! Fest

Tacoma HONK! Fest is an accessible community music festival driven by the energetic performances of PNW street bands and cultural groups in public spaces. And it’s free of charge!

Instead of formal stages, bands will be performing right in the streets (and alleys). There will be ample space for moving and dancing around. The audience is always welcome to join in!

We encourage you to walk, bike, or take public transit to the festival. Feel free to walk (or dance) between the stage areas set up in the McKinley Hill business district.

  • THONK! Patch Party Tuesday, September 15, 5 – 6:30 pm, Tacoma Main Library, Join the Tacoma HONK! team in crafting custom band or character patches to show off your style! 
  • THONK! Paint Party for Teens, Wednesday, September 23, South Tacoma Library Branch. Join the Tacoma HONK! team in painting colorful characters that will decorate the THONK! festival.
  • Pre-THONK! Concert – Featuring host band Tacomarama. Friday October 2, at 6pm @ Beware coffee and 6:45 pm @ VFW on McKinley Hill.

Meet our host band Tacomarama!

Tacomarama Community Street Band is a music ensemble that regularly performs at Tacoma-based events, including Tacoma Light Trail Parade, Tacoma Porchfest, and numerous neighborhood celebrations.
